Sirius Radio now offers 130 channels on the most recent update. If you are unfamiliar with satellite radio service, you will certainly appreciate the wide variety of music, talk radio, news, and entertainment channels, that now come through crystal clear, no matter where you are.
These are some of the channels I have become immediately fond of while driving my truck or sitting on my deck in the back yard where I can just plug my receiver into a Sirius Boom Box.
Channel 30 is The Coffee House where you will hear artists and their guitars doing acoustic versions of classic and modern rock and jazz song. Norah Jones style songs but most of the artists here I will bet you never heard of. Yes, there is more to FM radio, and this is a soothing, addictive station that will find you in many cool moments.
Channel 9 is The Pulse that features music created from the 90'sup to now. You get wide variety of the more creative leftover grunge bands like Dishwalla, to the popular end of the spectrum to find bands like U2, the Rolling Stones and Daughtry.
If you just live for TOP40, well that's here too, and its channel #1! I should point out here that even listening to TOP 40 on Sirius is going to be a new experience because of the absence of annoying DJ's wit lame humor. I mean, if you want music Sirius has very few commercials and when a DJ comes on they quick, knowledgeable, and they add to the programming, not detract from it.
Howard 100 is the channel that is perhaps propelling Sirius Satellite Radio to rapid expansion like no other channel in the universe. Howard Stern has been a long time New York and east coast radio host that literally created the term "Shock Jock". However that isn't fair to describe Howard becuase he is actually one of the best interviewers in radio - period. Howard's show runs twice a day, 4 days a week. This channel also features the Wrap-up Show, the regular slew of zany characters, and "The Best of Howard" to fill the gaps between new content.
